WR Fe-650, Fe-651, Fe-654 are iron-based tubular cored rods filled with macrocrystalline tungsten carbides (CM). The rod fill factor is approximately 70%, with a grain size of 80–200 mesh.
The coating is achieved by hardfacing with an oxy-acetylene torch. The CM particles in the coating are evenly distributed, without clustering in specific areas.
The coating obtained by hardfacing with WR Fe-651 tubular rods, combined with the high carbide density, shows very good erosion resistance — e.g. in applications involving contact with mud, soil, and concrete.
Before application, the surface of the base material must be preheated to approximately 500°C.
